Wadowice is a small town located 50 km southwest of Kraków. You will see the house where on 18 May 1920 was born Karol Wojtyła, the future Pope John Paul II. He and his family lived here until 1938 when he moved with his father to Kraków.
In 1984 a museum dedicated to Karol Wojtyła was open in the house where John Paul II was born. A new much larger and interactive Holy Father St. John Paul II Family Home Museum started ist activity in 2014. Hundreds of thousend of tourists visit it anually.
You will see the church where he was baptized and a primary school where he attended classes.
On the way back to Kraków we will stop at a place frequently visited by John Paul II, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, another UNESCO World Heritage Site to admire the Calvary of 17th century Bernardine monastery with the Stations of the Cross of the Passion of Jesus Christ.
